Modern Family

After the great TV series “Friends” I have to admit that I was hooked on “How I met your Mother” but now I am watching a great sitcom called  “Modern Family”.  Click here to see the official trailer of this crazy family. The plot is hilarious and the situations are so funny that it is impossible to get bored.

You can also see this interview in which two of the main characters talk about this modern family:

I really really recommend this sitcom. However the play on words are difficult to understand if you don’t have a high level of English and their accents are not always easy for a Spanish ear. So I recommend watching the episodes with English subtitles.

Waking Ned

I recommed you this film called Waking Ned (or as it was known in USA Waking Ned Devine). It is a comedy film by the English writer and director Kirk Jones from 1998. The film is set in Ireland although it was filmed on location in the Isle of Man (beautiful scenery by the way). It is a hilarious story of a man who wins the lottery and immediately dies. You’ll see how the whole town becomes crazy trying to find ways to get that money… Unforgettable!

Postman Pat

Postman Pat is a British stop-motion animated children’s television series first produced by Woodland Animations. It is aimed at pre-school children, and concerns the adventures of Pat Clifton, a postman in the fictional village of Greendale (inspired by the real valley of Longsleddale in Cumbria).

I recommend this series to my English learning students because here you can listen to different British accents. If the plot may be interesting to your children, the language they speak will be interesting to your ears! Enjoy the episode and the listening!!
