Wysiwyg is an acronym for What You See Is What You Getthat has been used in computer applications meaning that the final result of a programme will be similar to the one on the screen.

However it is spreading now into the common English language, so you can see advertisements with pictures of their products and the word “Wysiwyg” (or also “Wisiwig” or “Wizziwig”) on it. And it is also common in some restaurants, meaning that what you see on the menu is what you exactly get.
